Gadgetsiana.com - Review ASUS ZenBook 13 UX334FL. ASUS again showcased their reliability in assembling a laptop device by presenting ZenBook 13 UX334FL.

The laptops that are members of the ZenBook family offer a variety of innovations that are not necessarily found on other laptops. As the leader of the laptop market in Indonesia, ASUS should not be relaxed in presenting new laptops.

Therefore this one ZenBook 13 will make you stand out when you use it. Coming up with a very handsome design, the ASUS ZenBook 13 that I use has a Royal Blue colour with an iconic metal-spun textured finish on the lid.

Overall, the body is made of sturdy metal material, but still feels light because it weighs only 1.22 Kg. This is certainly a very important thing for those workers who need a computing device on the go.

Not only that, this laptop is also quite slim with a thickness of 17.9 mm and comes in a size that is not much different from A4 paper. This combination of course allows ZenBook 13 to be easily taken anywhere without adding too much load in the backpack.

With the body that can be said tiny ASUS can still provide connectivity support that is quite varied. The left of the laptop provides the HDMI port, USB 3.1 Gen 2 and USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 while on its right side there is a microSD card reader, USB 2.0, and a 3.5 mm jack audio combo.

Interestingly, this laptop has also got a MIL-STD-810G certificate after passing a variety of military standard tests such as fall tests, shocks, altitude, up to extreme temperatures. Therefore, the durability of this laptop does not need to be questioned anymore.

Lately there are two things in the design segment that are becoming my favorite from an upscale laptop made by ASUS and both of them are present on this device.

First, the ZenBook 13 has an ErgoLift hinge that lifts the base of a 3 ° laptop so that it delivers a more comfortable typing position while providing a more optimal airflow for its cooling system.

Moreover, this laptop keyboard has a pressure distance of 1.4 mm which will give you a more comfortable typing sensation. Not to be missed are the backlit lights for keyboards that will help both letters and numbers remain clearly visible in the darkroom.

The ErgoLift hinge also allows the laptop can I open with one finger so it is more practical to use. For the second thing, ASUS has again given its flagship design called NanoEdge which makes the bezel in the periphery thinner, which is 2.8 mm.

As a result, ZenBook 13 UX334FL has a smaller body than ZenBook version 2017 thanks to a screen-to-body ratio of 95%. The result of the screen of this laptop feels more relieved when used to consume multimedia content and when used daily.

The screen itself has a range of 13.3 inches of Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels with a 100% sRGB color gamut coverage and an angle of view reaching 178 degrees. Therefore, watching the video on this laptop feels very satisfying because not only the image looks crisp with accurate color but also feels more immersive.

To complement the beautifully viewed screen, ASUS has also teamed up with Harman/Kardon to provide a more seamless audio experience on this laptop.

Speaking of the screen, there is one unique thing that you don't necessarily find on other laptops. This ASUS ZenBook 13 UX334FL turns out to have an additional display located on the touchpad. The feature called ScreenPad 2.0 is arguably the next evolution of the traditional touchpad.

With a diagonal length of 5.65 inches, the ScreenPad 2.0 allows the fingers to be easily researched when used as a normal touchpad to move the cursor. But of course the main advantage of this one's features doesn't stop there.

As the name suggests, ScreenPad 2.0 is a screen-based touchpad that allows you to simplify the user's multitasking process. This mini-resolution FHD + display can show apps like Spotify to control it directly without having to move through the window on the main screen.

This feature can also be used to store various shortcuts such as screenshots and copy-paste more easily. In addition, the user can activate the handwriting mode which allows the touchpad area to receive the handwritten input until it is changed to display the Number Key.

This certainly makes ScreenPad 2.0 more versatile than the conventional touchpad as well as the NumberPad technology that ASUS presents on several other laptops. That way I have more options to use when multitasking.

As a laptop user who more often use an external mouse, I feel the presence of ScreenPad 2.0 makes the touchpad area more usable. Although the current functions can still be minimal, it is more useful than the conventional touchpad that I rarely use.

To further support the multitasking activities, ASUS also immerses the powerful specifications in this ZenBook 13 UX334FL. For this variant that I use, ASUS relies on the Intel Core i7-10510U processor which is the 10th generation with 4 Cores and 8 Threads.

Along with that there is 16GB Dual-Channel RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD storage. This combination allows ZenBook 13 UX334FL to run a range of my everyday applications very easily.

Never once I felt the laptop performance slowed when it opened many applications simultaneously where one of them was a browser with a number of tabs quite a lot. The presence of NVMe SSD also makes booting and loading applications shorter.

When I test the performance using a reputable benchmark app, the laptop is able to score 1,455 points at Cinebench R20 and 3,963 points on PCMark 10.

Thanks to the selected NVMe SSD storage solution, this laptop has the ability to Read 1.8 GB/s and Write 1.5 GB/s in a sequential. Much faster than conventional HDDS on mainstream laptops that may only have almost ten times lower speeds.

To support activities that require graphics, ASUS also completes this laptop with NVIDIA GeForce MX250 VRAM 2GB. With an additional graphics card, I can enjoy multimedia content comfortably and run photo editing applications smoothly.

The graphics card is more intended for general activities, but it feels incomplete to test a laptop without seeing its ability to run the game. I therefore tried running the Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition benchmark.

In the graphical setting of Lite at 1080p resolution, ZenBook 13 UX334FL is still capable of achieving 19-27 FPS depending on the scene being displayed. Although the final score obtained is small, that is 2,312 points.

This only proves that ZenBook 13 UX334FL is still capable of playing light or casual games because Final Fantasy XV is a heavy game. I think the performance is enough if it just wants to play old games to spend time alone.

Most importantly, the performance of the capable ZenBook 13 UX334FL is enhanced again by its long battery life. For this one laptop, ASUS party delivers 50W 3-cell Lithium-polymer battery in it.

When tested using PCMark 8 Work 2.0 with display brightness rate of 50% and ScreenPad 2.0 active, this laptop is able to continue to turn on for 5 hours. A number that can't be underestimated because it beats another ZenBook laptop that team Gadgetren has ever tried.

I also can use this laptop comfortably without worrying about running out of battery while working because it can be used continuously for a long time. Nevertheless, ZenBook 13 still requires me to charge the battery in the afternoon.

Fortunately, I didn't have to wait too long for the battery to return to a full charge from the one that was left 20% because it took only about 2 hours.

After using ASUS ZenBook 13 UX334FL for some time, I could say that this laptop is a very suitable tool for those of you who need to be able to work anywhere without worrying about feeling restricted.

Powerful performance with dependable battery life, while still having a compact body to be the ultimate power of this laptop. Not only for work, ZenBook 13 UX334FL can also be used as a portable entertainment device thanks to its captivating audio and visual qualities.

The innovations that ASUS presents on this laptop will instantly make anyone see it curious. It's hard to find the downside of ZenBook 13 UX334FL as ASUS really pays attention to every detail to ensure its users a perfect experience.
